Most people are into Asian dramas more than their films but there are times that I prefer the latter because it does not take so much time compared to the former. I was supposed to create a year-end post of all the Asian movies that I watched this year but I realized that it might actually be already 2016 and I still won’t be able to finish this post haha! (I have watched 46 this year alone and counting). This entry was posted in > China, > Japan, > Taiwan, - Drama, Review, Round-up and tagged A Different Kind of Pretty Man review, Aaron Yan, Absolute Boyfriend review, Ady An, Angela Zhang, Ariel Lin, Best Time review, Calvin Chen, Dean Fujioka, Emma Wu, George Hu, Goo Hye Sun, Hana Yori Dango 2 review, Hana Yori Dango review, It Started With A Kiss review, Janine Chang, Jerry Yan, Jia Nai Liang, Jiro Wang, Joe Chen, Joe Cheng, Just You review, Let's Go Watch Meteor Shower review, Let's Watch the Meteor Shower Again review, Maggie Jiang, Mi Lu, Mike He, Ming Dao, My Best Ex-Boyfriend review, My Pig Lady review, My Sunshine review, Prince Turns To A Frog review, Puff Guo, Romantic Princess review, Ron Ng, They Kiss Again review, Tiffany Hsu, Tiffany Tang, Wallace Chung, Wu Chun, Yang Le, Zhang Han, Zheng Shuang on Decemby dramarian. I’ll be dividing it into parts: STORY IN A NUTSHELL (without spoilers, I promise!), POSITIVE (+) & NEGATIVE (-) things about it, and my OVERALL RATING. My year in dramas is pretty colorful which I need to highlight: 1.) I watched a lot of C-dramas more than I intended to 2.) It was my first time to watch a drama while it’s currently airing 3.) I went beyond my habit of watching C/TW dramas by watching J-dramas (yay!) 4.) It also concerns going beyond my habit: watched a period/wuxia drama for the first time! 5.) I was able to watch some dramas which have been collecting dust in my never-ending plan-to-watch list already haha! and most importantly, 6.) I started blogging about dramas! ![]() This is part 1 out of 2 2015 Drama Round-ups that I’ll be writing. So this doesn’t necessarily mean that the dramas were all made in 2015 as the title of this post may have suggested. In this post, I’ll be writing brief reviews about all the dramas that I watched this year. I’ve been looking forward to writing this ever since I got the idea in my head. I would love to do a detailed introduction on them all soon! I have so, so much to share on each and every one of them. Not from Team Happy, and even moreso not from all the characters. Until today, I don’t have a favourite character. I have grown to love these characters over the 1,600 chapters and I’m touched by each and every one of their story and growth. I cried so many times reading this novel even though it is by no means ‘tragedy‘ or ‘melo’. ![]() With my love for The King’s Avatar (全职高手), I have a few draft posts of The King Avatar lying around but I never got around to publishing them due to procrastination. The anime piqued my interest and I started reading the novel – it was a long and arduous journey but I loved every moment of it! My love for The King’s Avatar transcended to the point where I braved the chinese raws when I reached the end of the english translations then. I chanced upon the anime while browsing youtube and was thoroughly absorbed by it even though fighting and e-sport was totally not my thing then. ![]() Before we proceed with the drama review, I just need to strongly recommend the novel (now fully translated in English!) and the anime! There is also an anime (with 3 seasons, I believe) released in 2017. ![]() The drama is based on an online novel with 1700+ chapters by Butterfly Blue (蝴蝶蓝). From there, he formed a team made up of nobodies and fought his way back to the top of the professional scene. After being forcefully expelled out of his professional team, he was employed in an Internet Cafe as an odd-job worker. Ye Xiu ( Yang Yang) is a well known top tier player in an online game Glory. And that’s how I wound up rewatching the 2019’s drama, The King’s Avatar (全职高手, quan zhi gao shou). We are in the midst of a pandemic and my family is looking for yet another drama to watch while staying home.
